So, these two guys bought a lion cub from Harrod's department store in the 70s. They named him Christian, and raised him in their flat, exercising him on the local church grounds, until he got too big to keep in the city. They decided to send Christian off to a sanctuary in Africa, where lions were reintroduced to the wild. A year later, they went to visit him (even though the man who rehabilitated him said Christian, because he was now the head of his own pride, would never remember them) …
So, there's something a wee bit uplifting for the day, in the midst of news stories about racist fucks plotting to assassinate Obama, a commenter sharing her heartbreaking story about her puppy being mauled because of her political beliefs, and all the other generally miserable bullshit that goes on in the world.
And as if Christian weren't enough, I see your lions laying with lambs and raise you a pit bull hanging out with some baby chicks and a house cat:
