One of my personal favorite webcomics: Least I Could Do
Tags: election 2008, ignorance, Sarah Palin

Things I could say in agreement.
The hypocrisy is just amazing.

I cannot believe there is a "debate" over this topic in this country today. Beyond the fact that all the evidence shows that education is considerably more effective than indoctrination… Just the simple idea of educating vs not educating.
Of course it's the same thing with scientific theory and evolution. I just can't believe we've gotten to this day/age where people think it's *better* to be ignorant. Sad.

10th October 2008 at 4:35 pm | permalink |@Hellationships: Yeah, it's mind-boggling. But I guess in fundie-land, so long as the pregnant kid gets married, it's all good in God's eyes, right? Halleluja!
@Brandon: Yes.
@grizzlybaer: Other webcomics … lessee: Something Positive, Templar, Arizona and Married to the Sea more or less daily … and then of course, one has to go check xkcd periodically … and every so often I'll find a link to a funny comic, and spend far too much time reading their entire archive, but I rarely end up following them.

Of course, given that the Right calls mainstream media "liberal", the fact that the writer admits he's an Obama supporter will instantly cause them all to dismiss the (unbiased) rest of the page as left-wing propaganda … but so it goes. hehe
14th October 2008 at 3:19 am | permalink |FFOOFF sounds kind of like the noise of McCain's chances going up in smoke. Badum-tch.
I have to admit I didn't know about the electoral college tie stuff. I assumed that the republican candidate would just insist on a recount in a state with a republican governor and call friends at fox to call the election for… oh… wait.
But something occured to me when I was reading about how Biden would be pres if the senate decided him for VP and the house of reps couldn't decide. Imagine a tied EC, a HR that couldn't make up its mind, and the senate on an acid trip choosing Palin… *shudder*
14th October 2008 at 6:04 am | permalink |@grimbles: I don't think McCain has any governor brothers handy … hehehe.
That said, the current polls estimate an electoral college split of McCain 166 to Obama 357. Not very close to a tie, with less than a month 'till the election. It would just warm my heart to no end if the first black man to be elected president in the US won by a landslide. (And given that numerous old-guard Republican figurehead types have come out in support of Obama, if for no other reason than the fact that Palin is a fucking train-wreck, it doesn't seem implausible at all. :-)
