McCain says he's a Maverick. The Maverick family of Texas begs to differ:
“I’m just enraged that McCain calls himself a maverick,” said Terrellita Maverick, 82, a San Antonio native who proudly carries the name of a family that has been known for its progressive politics since the 1600s, when an early ancestor in Boston got into trouble with the law over his agitation for the rights of indentured servants.

Psychiatrists define maverick (see wikipedia) as schizophrenic, self centered, unwilling to belong, like Nixon, GIuliani, Dole. Avenge Abramoff.

18th October 2008 at 4:34 am | permalink |Nutters, I mean don't get me wrong I dislike 99.9% of all politicians and I have things I don't like about Obama however anyone that can look at McCain and his VP (one of the few people that actually make McCain look like a. Good person for office) and think " hell they can't fuck it up to bad" is a fuckin nutter. I mean I should be voting republican right? I am a gun totein, bible lovin, county mother fucker (not my own but she was a mother so….) Yet for some reason I have not voted republican in 3 elections thus far. Know why? Cause I'm not that fucking ignorant. Voting democrat is not got to lead to a new mass of abortions, its not going to lead to the destruction of my moral beliefs, and its sure as hell not going to lead to the loss of my guns.Less they think they are just gonna march in my home and take em which if things go that bad they can have it all one bullet at a time.
Sorry got side tracked by my rant. Gotta love being one of the few with a brain in the south though. Makes for some interesting conversations at work. Our boss has put up notes saying "a vote for obama is a vote for less income" cause of the tax plans. Nutters.

Or at least an erudite comparison with the EU that at least would be an interestingly depressing thought.

25th October 2008 at 11:15 pm | permalink |Went earlier and voted.. what a bitch that was. Worth it though, even if McCain will get my state (Louisiana) easy. Just seeing the Democratic senator (who's in the lead) that I also got to vote for kick ass will be worth it.
Who else already voted?
28th October 2008 at 2:27 am | permalink |I voted early, too. I still have a fantasy that Obama will win Alaska. It was easy, all I had to do was go downstairs on a break and it took 15 minutes or so.
