Election 2008 … Fuck off, already!

Yeah, getting a wee little bit sick of the whole election thing. Romney dropped out, which is awfully nice. Now the moralizing-religious-cunt wing of the Republican party can have an honest head-to-head contest with the war-monger-fuckwit wing, without worrying about the holy-book contingent being unfairly split between two holier-than-thou "I'd like to legislate sinners out of existence" candidates. (And let's just forget about Ron "Fruitloop" Paul, shall we? He's lost. Deal with it, people.)

Barack "gee, he seems like he's a nice guy except for that politician thing" Obama seems poised to swipe the Democratic nomination from Hillary "Corporate Whore" Clinton, which is nice. I like the idea of a candidate who actually gets most of his campaign funding from small, personal contributions, instead of tapping out the corporate donor racket early, and having to loan yourself money to finish the race. Too bad about Kucinich, but everyone saw that coming.

Yeah. Sick of it. Not a single viable candidate left who has a history of really standing up to BushCo's serial civil liberties gang-rapes. Now the best we can hope for is a candidate who just might, maybe, be able to treat the rest of the world with a little respect, get us the fuck out of Iraq, and take the barbed wire condom off before assfucking the constitution some more.

This whole thing is really beginning to piss me off as well. Every day I hear more talk of super delegates deciding who gets the Democratic nomination. It's like, what the fuck did I even vote for if some back-room big-wigs are going to make a deal and decide everything?

And if that happens, why should I even vote in November? Let's just hand it over to the supreme court again if my vote isn't going to matter.

Yeah, the super delegate shit really needs to go. Just like the fucking electoral college.

Either the voters decide the result of an election, or they don't … and it seems they only do in the US if the back-room crowd happens to agree with them.

I bet the shit hits the fan inside the Democratic party if Obama gets a clear majority of popular delegates, and the super delegates contradict that …

Yeah, it needs to be a DIRECT popular vote. Machines that either use paper ballots of electronic machines that record their information on paper ballots.

After voting the initial results should be publicized and then have an automatic, mandatory recount to make damn sure the initial results were accurate. No delegates, no "super" delegates. One person, one vote. That's democracy >_<

Well, in all fairness, we are a democratic republic, not a democracy, per se.

That said, electing our representatives via actual democratic elections does seem like it'd be an improvement, doesn't it?

Believe it or not, Obama was one of the few(31 i think) senators to vote for the removal of the amendment granting immunity to the telecoms industry for tapping the phones illegally. I'm sure alot of it had to do with his running, but Hillary couldn't be bothered to vote either way and mccain voted to keep it in.

@Kyle: Well, that's definitely something, isn't it? He not only took off the barbed wire condom, but he's even using lube? ;-)

What's so bad about Ron Paul, again?

Even with his strictly constitutional voting record and taxpayer-friendly ideals aside, he's about it between the socialists on one side and the theocrats on the other.

I wonder why we can't get Colin Powell to run? There's a man who struck me as having some integrity.

When was the last time the US had a president with integrity? Someone that everyone could look up to. Sigh. Sometimes I'm glad I moved to the UK

Integrity? The only way that man could have less integrity is if that fake anthrax was actually the cocaine he snorted before he fellated every member of the UN.

    I'm definitely voting for Huckabee.

I WANT the Rapture…they get to live forever with their Invisible Sky Daddy and we get to reconstruct a (more) rational, secular, de-nationalized world society.

I mean come on, forever?! Siddhartha Fucking Buddha would off himself after 15 minutes with these people. With no one up there left to scapegoat those self-righteous fucks would be chewing each other throats out before you could say "If it were proven God did exist, it would be necessary to abolish him."

@t. phillips: "I wonder why we can't get Colin Powell to run?" Maybe because he has enough sense not to? ;-)
